CMS Bake Off*

*Stolen from Boston PHP Group
I think the idea posted below would be a great one for the CMS Group:
http://www.meetup.com...
Expanded outside the confines of PHP to include different open-source and Hosted CMS's.

canceled without notice? 35 people went to the non-event. We still have not heard why this happened. Who was the organizer and why hasn't he responded?

Well, it didn't happen, so I was pretty disappointed.

I am OUTRAGED that the organizers of this meeting cancelled* it without notifying the people who had RSVPed for it. I spent 1 1/2 hours in heavy traffic to get to this meeting, and another hour to return home, not to mention tolls and gas, all for nothing. I also turned down a social event I would have liked to attend in order to attend this meetup. Today when I logged into my email account, I expected to find a contrite apology and an explanation of how this happened, but not a word from anyone. My questions are, who knew, and when did they know it? And how do the organizers expect to attract members, let alone speakers, with this irresponsible and inconsiderate behavior?

This meetup really deserves a zero rating, but unfortunately, that isn't an option.

*According to the people at the NERD Center, this meetup was never scheduled, which is even worse than cancelling.

I've seen people RSVP to a Meetup and not show up before, but I can't say I've ever been stood up by the *organizers* before. A group of us showed up at the NERD and the security guard said there was nothing scheduled that night and to go home. WTF? Who is running this group?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
