N.B. It's fine to just attend the Christmas Party without coming to the event beforehand, and please also feel free to bring guests.
Hi Everyone,
Please join us at our Christmas Party to celebrate the end to a very successful year in which the group has tripled in size.
The Party will start at 9pm directly after our December seminar, it's FREE to Members and up to four guests and will go on to 1am-ish if you're all still standing. Given the intensity of our networking sessions before seminars it should be a really good chance to engage with others in the FinTech Innovation space.
The venue is the downstairs lounge at The Cuban Bar in Citypoint on Ropemaker Street, a short walk from Cass so no Taxis required, it's also a great bar, good drinks and cocktails, food, Tequila etc.
We're also looking for party sponsors, please drop me a line if you'd like to be involved, we're expecting a good turnout of Members with plenty of opportunities to network and promote your brand.
More details to follow...
Cheers
Eddie

Unfortunately I couldn't make it in the end, but I thought there was supposed to be a fair sized crowd

Hi James, too bad I didn't run into you. The meetup was moved next door. I kept asking those very same office workers you mention if they were with the London New Finance group, they looked at me and my friend for at least a whole second before saying yes and lunging. Yikes. After that, thank goodness I ran into nice/redeeming lawyer and venture capitalist types with the group. Hope to see you at a future meetup.

I think you have a point James, the venue was fine when we visited it last month and although we expected it to be busy and were promised that "we do have a couple of bookings downstairs for Thursday. I will put your group furthest away from dance floor." it appears that we underestimated how noisy it would be. Lesson learned for next year, hope fully we will be large enough to get a private room somewhere on our own terms.

What's this group about?
Financial Innovation is currently transforming our traditional finance industry, and consumers and corporates are demanding new innovative solutions for web and mobile.
You will find this group valuable if you are interested or involved in any area of Financial Innovation, we have a broad membership that includes both new and existing finance companies, providers of capital, entrepreneurs, service providers, academics, technologists and those just interested in innovation generally.
We host a monthly seminar that focuses on Financial Innovation and is always well attended by a wide range of professionals and users across all areas of finance. We typically offer excellent networking, presentations, a panel session and we also publish relevant research reports.
You may view videos of our past presentations here and you may download our research reports here
What do we want to achieve?
We're creating an independent platform that facilitiates Financial Innovation at all stages from initial concept through to maturity. That means bringing the right people together in an open and impartial network and providing regular events with relevant speakers and the opportunity to pitch ideas and get guidance. We also intend to focus on specific topics and address many of the difficult questions that are unique to Financial Innovation.
If you would like to get involved by either just helping out, speaking, pitching an idea or pretty much anything that contributes then please contact one of the organisers.
