Truth is at best partial, at worst error. We are at best explorers, at worst believers. If we desire to fully grow we must keep exploring. . . Welcome Explorers! (And curious believers too!)
As a starting point we'll discuss the possibility of:
A natural morality based on our passion's values;
A politics that roots out resentment so we can enjoy
a unified diversity;
And a culture of 7 billion honest individuals---
with not one truth!
This morality, politics, and culture have one goal: That we each flourish--that we each fully bloom into all that we are--together.
Can it happen? Should it happen? What do you propose? Let's talk about it!

Sorry, I shan't be able to make the meeting, I'm still exhausted from Sandy and the weather is a little threatening again, so I'm staying home, see you next time.

Damn! A 2nd storm and then Thanksgiving! I wanted to share this "passion" topic but it's a drive for me in a city that's still recovering. But keep me posted and I'll do what I can.

Half a Sandy?
Hi eveyone, I guess when they name a storm (Today's is Athena) you have to pay attention. I will be there for our meeting with anyone that can make it. If it's a smallish group we'll enjoy a less formal discussion and get to know each other better.
Maybe we can redo the topic again for the full group next week or on our next scheduled date of 11-21? (November 21 is the day before Thanksgiving. I'm not sure if that is good or bad for attendance?)
Here's the question to everyone: Do you prefer to redo the topic "What are Passion's Values" on 11-14 nor 11-21? If I get a good response either way that's what we'll do.
Thanks,
Rick

Hi all!
Our venue is open and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. Don't forget your "readings" of yourselves and those you know and meet before our meeting as to our human nature. What's your interpretation? Good, bad, both, a blank slate, or something else?
Also, remember this Meetup group is about exploring each other's new ideas (however heretical!) and creating new ideas together regarding morality, politics, and culture, so be prepared to talk about them if you desire.
See you Wednesday!

Hi all!
Regarding readings, we have none at this point because we'll be discussing our own ideas regarding life and future possibilities based on our experience, not other people's speculations made into truth.
In the next week the best "reading" we could do for our first Meetup would be to take a reading of ourselves and all the people we have actual experience with as to human nature. Based on your experiences, not what you have been taught or what the news and entertainment media portray, are you and these others you know "good," "bad," or neutral, as in a "blank slate" upon which the individual is written?
These catagories may seem simplistic, but they are the foundations upon which our ancient, and still active, social systems stand. We'll talk much about these fundamental distinctions at our first Meetup 11-7. Looking forward to meeting all who come!
Rick
