Special Event - Climber Craig DeMartino to Speak in Albuquerque

Come help support an event that supports the work of Special Olympics New Mexico! Jim Reist (one of our organizers) is on the Board and is Co-Chairing this event (Over the Edge). Climber Craig DeMartino will be speaking about climbing, a serious fall which resulted in the amputation of his right leg, his recovery and return to climbing. This will be a great talk, inspirational to everyone who loves outdoor activities, and for a great cause, so plan to attend! It's on Friday, September 20, 2013, doors open at 6:15 pm at the State Bar Center, 5121 Masthead NE, Albuquerque.

You can RSVP on our backpacking site but that won't get you a ticket. To order your tickets ($20/person in advance, $25/person at the door space permitting) you'll need click on the link below or you may purchase them in person at Stone Age Climbing Gym (4201 Yale NE).

Craig is featured in, "The Gimp Monkeys," an 8 minute short that was featured at last year's Banff Film Festival.  We have a link to that short below.

I would love to go but will be out of town that weekend. I just went for a first climbing lesson a couple of weeks ago for the fun of it. Fun for sure.
