Afternoon social paddle on Bayou St. John

This will be a SOCIAL paddle on Bayou St John, followed by a trip over to Bayou Beer Garden for food and beverages(they have more than beer). We usually get a mix of kayaks and canoes, and folks of all ages, and this will be a comfortable, talking pace. Life vests are recommended. If you don't have a boat, our start time coincides with Bayou Kayaks' rental schedule, so feel free to contact them through Facebook or their website. Please direct any questions about their services to them.

If water level/bridge clearance allows, we'll probably head south to the Orleans Ave Bridge, then back up around Park Island, for a 3 1/2 to 4 mile/90 minute trip. Bring water and snacks, or whatever keeps you paddling....

We'll meet at 2:30PM for a 3PM start, on Bayou St. John right in front of the School of Dentistry, at the Bayou Kayaks launch spot. Same spot as the full moon paddles we've done this year. Here's a Google Maps link:
https://maps.google.com/maps/myplaces?ll=29.991745,-90.08612&spn=0.000684,0.000622&ctz=300&t=h&z=21

We should be out of the water by 4:30 or 5, and hopefully Bayou Beer Garden's parking lot won't be too bad around then. They have a great deck, great beer selection, and great bar food. Lots of TVs around the deck. LSU plays Furman(who?) on pay-per-view, so no conflict there!
