Ultimate Frisbee - Audubon Park

  • Jan 8, 2013 · 3:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Entering from St Charles Ave, meeting a little less than a 1/4 of a mile down on the left side of the park.  Look for the orange cones.

Would like this to be a recurring weekly game with the likelihood of moving it to Sunday afternoons sometime around March.

All levels of players welcome!

I am sure you guys already know about this, but there is a meetup for Ultimate this Saturday at Lafrienere at 10 AM http://www.meetup.com/neworleansoutdoors/events/93033332/

Yes, there are several groups that play at Lafrienere. My goal in starting this group is to get is to get it going in the city, as Lafrienere is a long way to travel for those who use a bicycle as their main means of transportation.

I'd never be able to play that early, but could play when it is moved to Sunday (if that does happen later). I'd be willing to play at either location but Audubon is closer for me and is somewhere I go often anyway.

Hoping to move to Sunday by March. If we have a group going to likes Tuesday we can also start pushing it back a bit later around that time. I would be up for Sunday's and Tuesdays!

I can't come this time, but definitely would have joined! Summer hours (and later games) would make it easier to play. And yes, the Audubon makes it a lot easier to get to for some of us!

Agreed on both of those points! We are definitely looking forward to summer hours so we can start later and play later. I do have a light up Frisbee so we can possibly get some glow in the dark ultimate going one evening!

It looks like Audubon Park will give us the greatest chance of a good turnout. I have updated the description to give a good idea of how to find us. If you have an extra disc, please bring it for warmup. I have others joining us who are not a part of meetup so we should have a good turnout. There is a 50% chance of rain, but we will play on unless it looks like lightning will be in the area.

Suggest the open area in front of NOMA. I've seen that used for other Ultimate match's.

I like this idea. I can't do Audobon, but I could do City Park in front of NOMA - I would be able to make it around 4:30
