AB 920 and California Solar!

Terry, a member of SVSP, wrote this: "I hope I'm not alone in being jazzed about the passage of AB920 in October, (
http://www.environmen...) and I wonder if it's worth at least an email discussion about how this group can support the upcoming ancillary bills to be considered in 2010." I was thinking it would be a great topic for the next Meetup in Menlo Park. Terry confirmed it! Tell us your thoughts and make suggestions for individuals -- or maybe a panel -- to give our discussion a framework and expertise. Thanks, David

We did not have a very in depth discussion on AB 920 since only 3 out of the 8 that RSVPd attended. Even so, it was still a very informative meetup. If you RSVP please make sure you actually attend the meetings.

Glad to see the comments here. I'm a novice who has wanted to solarize my own roof for years....will have to wait for a better economy but meanwhile am looking forward to adding to my knowledge. Also, is there any interest in 350.org, Apollo Alliance or Greenforall in this group?

Another development to add to our next discussion: "The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has issued a declaratory order stating that sales by a developer of on-site solar generating projects to end-use customers do not constitute the sale or transmission of electric energy. The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) says this decision marks a "major victory" for the solar industry." Who do you know who would be a beneficial participant in our AB 920 Meetup on 14 December?

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
