On Saturday Nov 22, 2008 10am - 2pm. I'm leading a free introduction to iPhone development workshop at <a href="http://www.tekserve.c... in NYC.

The workshop is aimed at new developers and anyone interested in getting oriented to iPhone development.

We only have a few hours but we will cover as much information as possible and afterwards you will have a clear understanding of the process and what is involved in developing for the iPhone and iPod touch.

We will start with live coding of the classic simple "Hello World" application to get an overview of the steps and tools involved. Then we'll step back and delve into the basics to get a good foundation. Then we'll spend some time with UITableView and related topics. And finally we'll end up discussing other topics as time permits.

If you are interested in attending please sign up through <a href="http://www.meetup.com... The meetup group</a> or through my website <a href="http://www.e-string.c... so that we can keep you informed of any changes. Attendance is limited due to space restrictions at Tekserve.

If you know of anyone who could benefit please pass this information along.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks.

Julio

    •  Well organized and great location. Thank you!
    •  Julio did a great job, especially considering the challenges that came with such a mix of skills and experience in the room. I was really impressed with how well he juggled a variety of questions while still driving us through and finishing everything on time. Having someone willingly share their time and knowledge like this, especially pro bono, is very appreciated.
    •  Great intro to the hows and whys of iPhone development.
    •  Great Job! (1) Create all demo files beforehand, make sure they work, then email them to everyone. While doing the demo, tell everyone to start from scratch and only peek if they need help. (2) Tell tekserve to put more power in the room (3) Provide better overview of using documentation to add functionality - essentially, how to look up a function/method and then use it (4) Provide a list of forums and web sites you used to learn, and are using now to continue to learn. Clarify what you want to be hired for, what your core skills are, how you can be best utilized by the NYC community.
    •  Julio did a great job working with the crowd.
