iPhone OS, like its much bigger sibling Mac OS X, provides a rich array of concurrency solutions for developers needing to use them. This talk will focus on using operation objects and blocks to achieve concurrency to improve perceived application performance in an iPhone application. An application with a non-responsive UI will be examined. Then the application will be changed to use operation objects. Finally blocks will be used to implement an alternative solution. Danton Chin is a software developer focused on developing iPhone applications for fun and profit. He can be reached at danton@iphonedevelop erjournal.com and his blog is at http://iphonedevelop erjournal.com/

This went really well last time so we are going to do it again. Come on out on Thursday for a technical get together in the basement of Tekserve. Come on by this meeting if you are working on something and have a programming question or want someone to look over an approach or someone to bounce around technical ideas. You'll get a chance to talk to others about any development issues you are having. Don't be shy. We may or may not be able to help but explaining your issue to soemone else is often the first step in getting unstuck. I'll start the night off with a quick intro to MapKit and then others can come up and talk about any issues they are having. Programmers of all experience/levels are welcome.
