New York Italians have been asked to participate in a City Harvest volunteer project to take place on Saturday, March 8 at 8:45am in the Bronx!
The project will take place at St. Mary's Park Mobile Market, 595 Trinity Avenue, Bronx, NY. The site is easily accessible by the 6 train to E. 149th Street (5 block walk) or the 2/5 trains to Jackson Avenue (one block walk).
Volunteers will be stationed at 3-4 market tables, each supplied with thousands of pounds of fresh produce that they will help distribute to eligible market-goers. Sample produce items may include bananas, onions, cabbage, or potatoes. As the market-goers stop by each table, volunteers greet them and then weigh and bag the produce. Note: All food is distributed free of charge.
All volunteers should arrive promptly at 8:45am. Your promptness ensures that we will be able to start the Mobile Market on time. The market should end around 12pm.
