THE HEADLINER OF THE NIGHT AND ONE OF AFRO ASIAN'S OWN, THE BEAUTIFUL (IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE) AND TALENTED EKAYANI
If she looks familiar, you probably saw her and Tom Glide on WNBC's newest late night show, "All Night With Joey Reynolds". This trilingual vocalist (English, Bengali, and Sanskrit) seamlessly combines, with her DJ Tom Glide, guided meditation and house music which transforms into a full blown dance party. Come and experience the angelical sounds that "transports the yoga studio to the club world through the funky goddess of house music ", LA Yoga Magazine 12/09. There will be drink specials from 5pm to 9pm $5 on all beers, selected red and white wines, mixed drinks, cocktails, flavored martini's, and cosmos. Believe me, this is a total steal. This covers over 40 different types of drinks.
Women will be free before 12am on the Shades of Color guest list. Guys will be free before 10pm; $10 after. The most convenient way to get to this location is by taking the A, C, E, or L train to 14th ST and 8th Ave. Please feel free to invite guest and friends.
Due to administrative and capacity issues (Honey, 243 W 14th ST, has the ability to hold a limit of 200 patrons), all invitations will close once we have a head count of 140 people between the 5 organizers, or by 12pm Friday April 1st. If you plan to attend, please RSVP as soon as possible. If you show up, and your name is not on the list, even if you say Shades of Color, you will not be allowed admission, no exceptions.
We are asking everyone to donate a minimum of $5. All donations are tax deductible; we can also accept checks. This event will run, officially, from 6pm to 12am on Friday April 1st.
For an extra $5, you can enter a 50/50 raffle. At the end of the night, half the raffle money will go to the Red Cross and the other half will go to the winner.
There are two ways to RSVP either by joining one of the groups and counting yourself in, or by sending me an e-mail on one of my Meetup web pages with your name and # of guest; thanks.
