Event fee: USD2.00 per person
Where: Click the link below to find out!
Event Description: Whitney Museum
Here's another fun event combining our love of museums and photography!
We'll check out Lorna Simpson's creations at the Whitney Museum on the closing day of her exhibit. There should be a large turnout so we'll get there early.
Here's a blurb from the Whitney homepage...
"One of the leading artists of her generation, Lorna Simpson is well known for her photographic and film works, which often examine racial and gender identity. In works such as Call Waiting (1997), she depicts people of color engaging in intimate yet incomplete conversations that elude easy interpretation but seem to plumb the mysteries of identity and desire. Organized by the American Federation of Arts, this comprehensive first mid-career survey will feature her image and text works, serigraphs on felt, film installations, and a selection of recent work."
Pay your admissions ticket and we'll meet by the bookshop.
The event should wrap up around 1:00. At that time, folks may wish to continue browsing or go for lunch somewhere on the Upper East Side.
We're limiting this event to 20 attendees. We anticipate a lot of interest so are only allowing definitive "Yes" and "No" RSVPs. Hope you can make it!
Also, be sure to bring your camera! (And those who attended the 4/22 AMNH events should bring their photos from that event as well!)
