The New York Golf Meetup Group Pages

We're an easy-going group who play roughly once a month at local public courses. We have played South Shore, Silver Lake, La Tourette, Douglaston, Clearview, Pelham Bay, Split Rock, Lido, Tallgrass, Van Courtlandt Park, Forest Park, Maple Moor, Saxon Woods, Sunken Meadow, Mill Pond, Bethpage Yellow and West Sayville.

We also have occasional practice sessions at Chelsea Piers Golf Club, Randall's Island Golf Center, and Flushing Meadow's Pitch and Putt. We strive to keep green fee costs to a minimum and easy access to courses via carpooling, which I coordinate thru e-mail. Don't forget to show appreciation for your drivers.

There is a small membership charge of $6 to cover the costs I incur as organizer for managing the website. This is payable at your first meetup in 2012.

Please note that most of our 18 hole golf outings are for golfers with some golfing experience who; 1) have played 18 holes of golf several times and can hit the ball at least 150 yards in the air 2) can shoot a maximum of 110 (men) and 120 (women). These are approximate figures depending on the course and conditions but any score much higher than that puts you in the beginners circle. You must also be familiar with golfing etiquette. This is a pre-requisite for all applicants.

We will also have events that are geared toward beginning golfers.
