The Nice Expat group has become a source of new friends and a positive focus for many, thanks to the hard work of founders James and Maria. According to the statistics, the group is now host to 445 Members, living and working either on a permanent or part time basis across the C?te d'Azur.
Stepping into the shoes of two such charismatic characters is a tall order for anyone.
Not quite sure how I got myself into this, perhaps I said yes? I?ll do my best, time permitting, to build on the foundation these guys have laid. I believe however, we need to look at developing a strong leadership team to maintain the positive energy, organise diverse activities and develop relationships within the large membership now scattered across the region.
A group is only as good as the members it represents. Your feed back, ideas and energy, positive and negative are vital in order to grow and innovate.
I?d like to hear from you???????
? What type of activities and events you'd be interested in attending?
? Are you up for organising an activity? Could be just as simple as a pub quiz night, river picnic, jogging group
? Do you have a great venue, garden, terrace you'd like to share with the group, host a BBQ or dinner (paid for and organised by participating members)
? What could be done to improve communication, involvement and membership retention
? Would you be willing to step up and join the leadership team and help make life in C?te d'Azur rock!
We will be maintaining the regular monthly meetup get togethers and will post details of upcoming events on the website. May I ask you to update your personal profile on the site, include under location your home town and country. I have also added 3 simple questions to the personal profile. This shows members/potential members the type of diverse, interesting people you are, they are likely to encounter as a group member.
Expats as a community group are generally considered to be movers and shakers, people who can see what needs to be done, and people who get things done! Your input is invaluable, please help me to create a compelling, fun filled future for members of this group.
I look forward to seeing you at one of the meetups soon.
Marjie H ? Nice Expat Leadership Team
Ps. Once again extend thanks to James and Maria, wish you both health and happiness.
Sure we'll see you at a meetup somewhere , some when
