Where: U of M Rarig Center Theater
330 21st Ave S

his one I picked based on the description and reviews from previous shows. While the Fringe is great overall, some shows can have a bit of a "we've never done this before in front of people who actually paid money" quality. The first review below stands out.

Show starts at 2:30. We'll meet at 2 or so. Cost of show is $12 plus a $4 Fringe button. Fringe button is good for all shows and can be purchased at the ticket counter.

Here is the description:

A twisty mystery of a comedy, hilarious and sad, about literature and fame and failing at both. Two men walk into a bar. It's not the start of a joke, it's the start of a hundred jokes. And some twists. The #5 show from the 2005 Fringe, starring Ari Hoptman and Alex Cole.

Reviews from the 2005 Minnesota Fringe Festival production:

Must see. - Let others stretch the boundaries of the theatrical art form; what James Vculek has done is written and directed a good new play....It's a twist-filled tale that stands astride the gulf between literature's superstars and bottom-feeders, and Vculek's strong ear for dialogue is done justice by the first-rate cast. - Rob Hubbard, St. Paul Pioneer Press.

The Princeton Seventh was simply an excellent play - well-written, funny and sad with a great twist.

2005 Fringe audience reviews:

Great show! by Nancy Goldstein: Excellent actors and terrific script! The brilliant twist at the end was totally unpredictable. I highly recommend this show.

One word: Superb by Marla Kapperud: Excellent writing + extraordinary cast = superb show. In order to pull off this show, the writing and talent had to be extraordinary and it was.

Whatever else you see, see this! by Tim Voss: The fine script is played by 4 highly skilled actors at the top of their craft. I want more. This is another show that deserves 6 stars. It's the best I've seen so far.
