The TC Night Life Meetup Group Message Board › Fall Festival in Chaska, MN this Saturday.
Saint Paul, MN
This is without doubt worth a person's time. I have heard the band before and they are outstanding and easy to dance to! My boyfriend Paul and I will be there and would love to see some others meet up with us out there too. Drop me an email if you would like any further details or if you have any questions. Happy Tuesday!
Saturday, September 25, 2010 - Guardian Angels, Chaska
Davina and the Vagabonds!
Synergy is the pop / rock band that will be playing on Saturday evening.
Celebrating History & the Word
“The Bibles of Carver County” … and then some. In addition to even more live music, more food, more fun, the Old Friary (one of the state’s most historic buildings) will be open for its annual tour. Plus, there will be a very special exhibit in the Friary: the Heritage Edition and Prints of the St. John’s Bible (St. John’s Abbey, Collegeville). The St. John’s Bible is the first hand-written Bible project undertaken in over 500 years. Abbot John Klassen, OSB, will be presiding at the 10 a.m. Mass the following Sunday, Sept. 26.
As part of the Bible exhibition, the Friends of the Friary are seeking culturally, artistically, and historically significant Bibles and scriptural artwork lent from parishes and individuals around Carver County, Hennepin County, and Scott County – collected Sept. 12 – 17 (or earlier) and exhibited Sept 20 – 25. To be sure, old Bibles brought by pioneering families, unique Bibles (one Bible will be a miniature Ethiopian Bible in the ancient Ge’ez language), and family heirlooms would be appreciated. If you have a Bible you’d like to lend, contact Neil Kennedy, Friary@GAchaska.org. Or call Guardian Angels’ office: 952-227-4000
Celebrating Congregations’ Identities
The “World’s Shortest Parade” will be back again at AngelFest (11:30 a.m.). This time, the theme is celebrating our various parishes’ and congregations’ identities. The $250 grand prize is given to the entry (individual or group) that most creatively, whimsically, and respectfully conveys a faith community’s parish or pastor. Some brainstorming topics: Norwegian Lutefisk appreciation … German Catholic bingo playing … synchronized Presbyterian usher collection brigade … back pew Irish Catholic snoring squad. You get the idea. To enter, contact Greg Blaufuss with your idea (to make sure no one else is doing it): AngelFestParade@GAchaska.org. Or call 952-227-4000.
How long is the world’s shortest parade. Basically, it’s the width of Second Street right by Guardian Angels Church. Both individual and group parade entries gather in the Friary Gardens behind the church, and then proceed down the alley towards Second Street. They will have the width of Second Street to show off.
