Announcing a new Meetup for The Cleveland Nightlife Meetup Group!
What: St. Patrick's Day - Nightlife Style!!
When: Wednesday, March 17,[masked]:30 AM
Pickwick & Frolic
2035 East 4th St
Cleveland, OH 44101
Get ready to call off sick, Nightlifers!! 'Cause guess what...you're playing hooky with me!! (Okay, okay. Take a vacation day if you have it!)
Irish eyes will be smiling (and glazed over!) all over Cleveland on St. Paddy's Day 2010! And for anyone who knows me, I'm pretty damn Irish, so this holiday is mandatory for me. I have only missed the parade once in the past four years, and I'd like to continue the fine tradition. There are literally dozens and dozens of bars in our area doing St. Patrick's Day events, but after careful consideration and fact-gathering, I've put together what I think is a pretty excellent bar crawl! Here's the agenda for the day:
9:30 a.m.: Meet at Pickwick and Frolic
2035 E. 4th St.
Cleveland, OH 44115
- We'll start here for their annual St. Patrick's Day Breakfast for a good meal in our bellies, along with whatever alcoholic substances you choose to imbibe. I've made reservations for 15 people, so I've capped the RSVP'ing off on Monday night so that I don't keep adding people on and making Management's life hell.
11:00 a.m.: Moriarty's Pub
1912 E. 6th St.
Cleveland, OH 44114
- This is truly the oldest Irish bar downtown, excluding the Flats. Moriarty's has been serving customers since the 1930s. This old-school watering hole is quaint, authentic, and the perfect location for drinking a wee pint on St. Paddy's day.
1:00 p.m.: St. Patrick's Day Parade
- Where all the fun is! Enjoy the sights and sounds of bagpipes, horses, dancers, and all sorts of other Gaelic merriment. The parade runs approximately an hour, and it will most likely be pretty cold downtown, so make sure you bundle up and wear comfortable shoes for walking.
So...I think that about covers it! Here is a link to the walking route we'll be taking to get to our destinations (just take note that we WILL be walking down East 4th St., though Mapquest doesn't show that, because it thinks we're taking a car): Bar Crawl/Parade Route
Also note that if Moriarty's is too packed, we have plenty of other options downtown to choose from. We're sure to have a blast!
