SHE & HIM @ MILLENNIUM PARK - FREE CONCERT!!

Hello everyone!

Guess what?? SUMMER IS HERE!!
No. Not the season that we all love each year (btw, 6/21 is official 1st day). I'm talking about the one who broke many-a-guys hearts in a little popular indie film called '500 Days of Summer'.

The indie folk duo She & Him featuring actress Zooey Deschanel ('500 Days of Summer') and M. Ward are the first act announced for Chicago’s summer music series Downtown Sound: New Music Mondays. The free concert series will take place at Millennium Park.

The indie/country fusion sound of the duo is as alluring as it is unique. Conjuring a comparable bittersweet, dreamy and romantic mood prevalent in their 2008 debut, the much sought-after duo will promote their innovative new album, Volume Two, with a highly anticipated addition to the Downtown Sound series this summer.

Not a bad way to start a whole new week! The entire day was truly a delight. I was really surprised about how very lucky we were to grab seats near the stage (3rd rear section from the left) just right by the sound tent. The concert was excellent and the crowd were extremely wild. Zooey D sounded amazing with the duo's priceless version of 'I Put A Spell On You' as part of their last encore, which litteraly gave me chills up my spine. After the concert was officially done. We made our way out of the massive crowd and walked over to my favorite spot in The Loop, Brando's Speakeasy for drinks & pizza. A few people in the group, including myself, each got a chance to do a couple of karaoke songs and did a amazing job. We all had a magnificent time. Thank you all so much for coming out and making last night a memorable one. For those of you who couldn't find the rest of us, I apologize and I hope that we all have a chance to meet at the next event. I have more event to come so stay tuned!

Is the plan to be out on the lawn or in the seats? If it's on the lawn I'll want to bring a camping chair, etc and would recommend others do the same.

Actually hoping to attend - as I work across the street, but RSVP'd No so you don't worry about saving me a seat. I never know when my work day will end. Might just catch part of the concert.

I will most surely have my Meetup sign with me. I also know that there won't be many people around at Wrigley Square. So I shouldn't be so hard to find over there. But look at my profile photo, just in case.
