Peter Ferry | Micro-concert Series No. 1

Micro No. 1: Barracuda by Jacob TV

Led by local musician Peter Ferry, the Micro-concert Series at Roman Susan will host musical performances in a new format: twenty-minute events highlighting contemporary composition with post-concert space for community discussion.

Celebrated as a “percussion genius… celebrating percussion in a stunning, thoughtful way,” (Democrat and Chronicle) Rogers Park-based percussion soloist Peter Ferry is quickly gaining recognition for compelling performances of contemporary works by living composers.

Micro No. 1 will feature Barracuda by Dutch composer Jacob TV, written for marimba and a collection of unpitched percussion instruments. After the performance, there will be a short discussion of the work and space for group conversation with Ferry and audience members.

As with all programming at Roman Susan, this is a FREE event!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
