This is a meetup group for things a little more on the inexpensive side- a great for parties, discount theatre tickets, bar discounts, free billiards nights, free days at museums, trips to the zoo, etc.
The less expensive it is to go out, the *more* we can all get together!
We'll see if we can get group discounts to some events, explore some "free days" at museums, go visit cheap greasy spoon diners, throw parties, etc.
I'm actually opening up the meetup so you can make suggestions of anything that's free and cheap in Chicago. Please bear in mind, while "free" is easy, "cheap" is relative.
Try to keep things inexpensive- if it's an item where there's a discount, a 50% discount is really sweet, but not if the cost is still something like $30. And don't just dump every little promotion you can think of here; that could go crazy. Use your good judgment, and let's find some terrific events to go to.

Let's MEETUP and break up the work week with Kickball on Wednesday nights this Spring! There's nothing better in Chicago than playing in one of my coed, recreational "Simply Social" intramural league! For the past 14 years, people have been joining teams in these leagues because we offer not only a super fun outdoor activity, but also create an environment where meeting people is just as important as the games!
My laid back, just for fun leagues always get super friendly people to sign up, not overly competitive folks. Hanging out with the same group for 7 weeks during the season (both at the field and also at our post-game sponsor bar all teams walk to!) makes it effortless to build lasting relationships. That really is the best part :)

FULL LEAGUE DETAILS:
*Don't pay attention to the RSVP #. People find out about and join these leagues from many places and they always fill up fast!
Before the season starts, you'll get an email with TONS of important info including your teammates' names and emails, the full schedule, how we play, sponsor bar location more.
FIRST GAMES: Wednesday, April 24th. Games played 6:30-9:30 pm and your team's game time rotates weekly.
LENGTH: 7 Weeks. All teams make it into our playoffs tournaments to end the season and crown the league champs! Winning teams get victory parties!

When Summer arrives in Chicago, it's our goal to be outside enjoying the weather as much as possible. And there's absolutely nothing better than joining a social intramural league! It's a blast getting to know new people playing games and then also over drinks at your league sponsor bar that all teams walk to.
In these leagues, ALL SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOME (no experience required) and we can place anyone aged 21-42 on a team. Simply register by yourself or with friends and I'll put you with others around your age for the season. Then before we start I'll email EVERYTHING you need to know for the season including your teammate info, the full schedule, how/where we play and TONS more!

Ben - $5 First Fridays Stand Up Comedy Shows at Chicago's best venue!Laugh Factory, Chicago, IL
The Laugh Factory in Lakeview (Broadway & Belmont) is open for comedy and we all could use some laughs! We always get A LOT of people to attend these shows. Often times over 100 Meetup members!
If you attend by yourself or with friends and want to be seated in the Meetup group section, simply request this when you check in at the ticket booth! Then just say hi to those around you :)
Every First Friday of the month we get $5 TICKETS to their shows at 7:00, 9:15 & 11:30 pm. They're ALWAYS hilarious!

Get your $5 tickets ASAP before the quantity they give us get sells out. And with our "laugh or get a refund" policy (that has never in 4 years been requested), I know you'll enjoy your MUCH NEEDED night out! *You can purchase tickets for several people and multiple shows this night through the link. No physical tickets will be issued. Your name will be on a list at the door and all tickets will be under the purchaser's name. Groups of up to 6 people can be sat together if arriving together.
Please Note: These shows are for ages 18+ w/ ID. If you show up after start time you will not be able to enter. There is a 2 drink minimum per person per show (non-alcoholic or alcoholic). Drinks are reasonably priced, and a comedy show is funnier with a few drinks, so this shouldn't be an issue with how cheap our tickets are :) Also, an 18% service fee (aka gratuity) will be applied to all drink tabs at payment to be given directly to service staff.
No refunds or exchanges but tickets can be transferred.

Is there parking? Street parking and some garages are available throughout the area. However, public transit, ridesharing apps, and taxi services are highly encouraged.
What is the dress code? There is no dress code. Be comfortable!

We all know Family Feud! The best game show ever right!? I came up with an amazing way to play bar trivia like the Family Feud game show that anyone can play and be good at! You don't have to know lots of random facts to enjoy or win this trivia. This league is a super fun way to meet new people, have some mid-week drinks and get your think on! We take over an entire bar with 24 teams too :) This league ALWAYS fills up so the RSVP # will not reflect the actual size.
You can register online by yourself or with friends for only $35! We'll then put you on a coed team of 6 thinkers around your age for the season and email you a bunch of info to know for the season. Or sign up your own team of up to 6 people for just $170!

Each night there are 2 rounds of 5 questions. The trivia works in reverse of how traditional Family Feud scoring goes. Teams are given the survey question that people were asked and then you have to turn in only one answer. BUT you get the MOST points for guessing the lowest answer on the list (the one that only a couple people said) and LESS points for guessing the popular answers! So it's a battle between making sure your answer is on the on the list of answers given but as far on the bottom of that list as possible. It's THE BEST kind of trivia ever.We give out really awesome prizes too!! NIGHTLY PRIZES FOR THE TOP 8 TEAMS!!! PLUS INCREDIBLE OVERALL LEAGUE PRIZES!!!
