I have been getting so much out of a certain genre of literature that I decided to see if anyone else wanted to read and discuss them. All of these books are terrific depictions of the journey out of emptiness and back into the vitality of being alive. They always inspire. Anyone who finds the topic of re-discovering spiritual health and innocence, particularly if the starting point is a jaded love for self-destruction should join this meet-up. We'll meet weekly and peel one of these novels apart. Please be sure to nominate a book from below when you join! I've got 4 books to choose from so far: I, Lucifer by Glenn Duncan http://www.amazon.com/Lucifer-Finally-Other... Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse http://www.amazon.com/Steppenwolf-Novel-Her... Veronica Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho http://www.amazon.com/Veronika-Decides-Die-... When Nietzsche Wept by Irvin Yalom http://www.amazon.com/When-Nietzsche-Wept-N...

This meetup was terrific. 3 hours of quality conversation on some very interesting topics. We'll meet again in 4 weeks to talk about When Nietzsche Wept by Yalom. if anybody found it too difficult to get to brooklyn, I'm open to alternative places in manhattan. We just need our own table and relative quiet. email any suggestions! Learn more

A helpful nihilist (wtf?) suggested this place. I think it's probably more central for most people and we have an area reserved for us. There's no charge, but they expect us to order stuff to justify the space.
