The ride was incredible! Being on the streets and bridges of NYC with no cars was something to remember. You did a great job organizing us and keeping everyone together, thanks for a day to remember Eddie!

3 days before 5 bridges.... Nope, Im not ready, no training; I've not sat on my bike since September. AND .... I'm rollin, letting the hills come to me, feathering my back brake and screamin on the down side. *** just had to put that in the Universe

While I'm at the Bike Expo, I'll be happy to pickup anyone's rider packet.

Hey Eddie, I see that some of you have your rider number. How can I find out whats my number? I checked my Active.com account but its not there, lmk, thanks.

    April 23, 2013

    • Eddie

Hi Cesar. The tour should have emailed you your starting number with the email address you supplied during registration. If you did not get an email with your rider number contact [masked] or call their customer service hotline at[masked]

      Excellent!

      April 27, 2013

Except for Cyndi, we should all have the same color and start time. If someone has a different color and time I can try to change it. Team members have sequenceal rider numbers.

I've done a few of these large rides and I'm pretty sure I can start with you... I'm doing a late night ride the day before, so a later start would be great, lol. Is your time at 8:30?

      April 25, 2013

    • Eddie

Since your starting time is at 7:45, I think it would be ok if you start with us at 8:30.

      1 · April 26, 2013

  • Ann P

Eddie: Isn't everyone in our group supposed to be at the same start time? I'm 8:30. How are we going to meet if we have different start times? Thanks

    April 24, 2013

  • Eddie

I was looking at Google maps and meeting at the Staten Island Ferry might be too far from starting line. It might be better for us meet by the Bowling Green Fountain. From there we can watch the riders before us pass by.

    April 23, 2013

  • Yvonne

    not registered.

    April 22, 2013

  • Ann P

If people are coming from NJ and driving, meeting at the Staten Island Ferry (Staten Island side) makes sense. It's almost impossible to find people once you get into Manhattan.

    April 17, 2013

  • Eddie

    Hey All.

Where do you think we should meet up?

    April 17, 2013

  • Ann P

Dianna - I'm coming from Essex County, in the same start as you. I normally drive to the Staten Island Ferry, take the ferry to the start, then am at the end point to drive home from there at the end of the ride. It works very well. Having to wait for the ferry to get back into the city after the ride is a long, slow wait. If you want to carpool, we can do that.

Hi Ann, yes, I'd love to car pool, and the ferry sounds perfect. I guess we can work out the details closer to the date?

      April 13, 2013

    • Ann P

Dianna - Why don't you email me at [masked]? We can work it out easily - I'm right off 280.

I'm rider #17034, start color red at 8:30. How are you guys getting there? I'm coming from morris county and if anyone wants to carpool or take transit together that would be great. I would think that trying to drive in and park would be an incredible mess!

    Looking forward to this event!

    April 11, 2013

  • Danielle

I will not be able to attend - Eddie can I give my spot to someone else. Do you know how this works?

    April 11, 2013

    • Eddie

Sorry to hear you cannot join us. The official tour rules does not allow transferring registrations.

      April 11, 2013

  • Eddie

Team members have sequential rider numbers. Please post your riders numbers when you get it. so we can verify that the tour has place everyone on the same team.

We have five people on our team, Ann Pollack,Cesar Fuentes,Dianna Newton, Danielle Piccirilllo and Edilberto Pascual.

We should have gotten our rider numbers in March but they never came, so I contacted the tour. "Thank you for your email and for contacting Bike New York in regards to the TD Five Boro Bike Tour. Due to the high density of rider registration, we were unable to send the rider number email with barcode at the end of March. The email will be sent to all riders this week and you can expect to receive it either late this week or early next week. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to reply to this email. Otherwise, have a great day and we will see you in May!

    Best,
    Kathy"

  • Danielle

Hi Eddie I sent it to you yesterday morning. Did you get it?

    February 22, 2013

  • Danielle

How do I join a team with the group? I am signed up already and got an email to pick friends and family to ride with.....

    February 20, 2013

    • Eddie

Hi Danielle. Please send me your "send this to your team captain" information and I'll add you to the group.

      February 21, 2013

  • Eddie

Hi All. You should have received an email from the bike tour. Please send me your information so I can form our group. You can find that information in that email right below "send this to your team captain". Email the information to [masked].

    Thanks.

I have the same question as Danielle. The deadline for 'team' signup is March 1.

I sold my hybrid bike before I left california. I have a road bike...nice Trek. Right now I am getting ready for Thailand...this next week, so I am wrapped up in that. Thanks all for suggestions.

I'd love to do this, but I've never ridden 40 miles and all I have is a 7-speed hybrid bike. Is anyone else a leisure rider like me?

Thanks, that's what I wanted to hear. I know there is a shortcut and the SAG vehicles are an option if I get too far behind. I just didn't want to be the only on on a touring bike! If anyone knows where I can pick up a cheap, used road bike, let me know!

      January 22, 2013

    • Bob

The only real hills are the bridges....and some walk, so no shame in that.

      February 12, 2013

  • Bob

@ Dianna....don't worry, ride is pretty easy even for a hybrid. Just be able to navigate your bike through a crowd and enjoy.

Bob: You can still join (I think) if you sign up to support one of the charities. You commit to raising $1000 and your entry fee is covered. I did it with Doctors without Borders - it's a lot of fun.

    February 11, 2013

    • Bob

      Thanks for that idea

      February 11, 2013

  • Bob

@ Bob, if I'm not mistaken, Registration was not a lottery this year, and it closed 24hrs after registration opened 1/22/13.

    February 11, 2013

    • Eddie

I was expecting registration to sell out in a few hours after opening but it actually took a few days.

Sounds like a cool ride. What do we get for the $86 fee?

      January 22, 2013

  • John W.

Is there a cost or fee for this ride?

    January 21, 2013

    • Eddie

Yes. Its $86 per individual. "The cost of participation in the 2013 TD Five Boro Bike Tour is $86 per individual rider. Proceeds from this event are donated to Bike New York, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing free bicycle education and safety programs throughout the five boroughs of New York City. A portion of the cost is an administrative fee which is intended to defray the administrative costs of the event."
