Slow Bike Ride Around the Waterfront of NYC and Over Brooklyn Bridge

Forget about it you don't need no 5 Boro bike tour.  I got your tour right here

We will start at River Terrance Park and ride the bike paths to Battery Park, then around to the South Street Sea Port.  We will ride over the Brooklyn Bridge into the Dumbo (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) section of Brooklyn. I have not been to this section of Brooklyn but I heard there is a restaurant call Grimaldi's and has the best pizza . So we will eat there for lunch.  This will not be a strenuous ride this will be a fun sightseeing, eating, and drinking ride.  Then back over the Brooklyn bridge. We do need keep moving a bit  so we can get to the next place to hang out.  This will be a ride to explore the waterfront and more in NYC.  I am going to try to take the bike paths up as far as I can.  Along that route everyone is free to make suggestions on what to do.  I know Manhattan like the back of my hand.  I will get the mood of the group and make suggestions.   At any time you want to bail from the ride there is always public transit back.  I can show you the way.

That is the nice thing about the ride is if you get tired you can always take the train home from anywhere.  We will be riding on the bike paths 90% of the time.  You can't ride your bike on the sidewalk in New York, you can be fined. Where it isn't safe we will walk.

We will take the bike paths on the water front this will be a slow bike ride but not at an extremely slow pace.  There will be a lot of stops to take pictures and eat. We will be going the pace of the average rider on the bike paths. At max pace we will do 9 miles per hour, this is a very easy pace for most healthy people we need to hit certain points at certain times.

I am not a first responder or have a CPR certification.  You are responsible for your own actions, by saying yes to the ride you are taking on your own risk. Biking takes a lot of energy and tends to push the body.  If you have heart problems, high blood pressure, or any other problems that may put stress on your body, please speak with me before this event or ask your doctor. Even though it is an easy ride, it can be taxing on the body. I'm just showing you around the city

Hi I think the best place to park is Harrison, NJ Path Train Station.  There is a Parking lot that charges 7 dollars and the train is $2.25. The train takes you in 20 min to World Trade Center and we will be at the News stand Hudson News My number is[masked] 8473. also the train runs every 15 min.
See you soon,
Mike

Hi, I have a suggestion for a future bike ride: Saddle River County Park
    http://www.yelp.com/biz/saddle-...
It's well paved, many trees to offer shade and not difficult.

Do all the Path Trains let bikes on? I'll plan on using this route if they do(coming from Morris Cty), so if anyone wants to meet at the Harrison Station we could ride in together.
