Beginner Hike Norvin Green

Hi Everyone,

I’m doing a hike this day.  I want to keep the hike at a  good pace around 1.5 miles an hour for around 4 to 5 miles.  You will be hiking up a mountain with quick elevation, but at the top what a sight. This is not an easy hike, meaning it is not gravel paths and walking through a nice park; it’s the outdoors.  It is nothing you can’t handle, although it is not a walk in the park.  You will be going up a mountain.  So you may use your hands and feet to get up there but there is not too much of that, mostly it is single track.  This will be at a brisk pace but not anything most fit people can’t handle.  Total time about 4 hours with few rests. We will take rests as needed and a lunch or snack at the halfway point.

I don’t have a sweeper for the hike so you must keep up.

You will need lots of water at least 2 liters, good shoes, and a snack if you want.  If it is hot, lots of water!  If it is looks like light rain the hike is on.

glad you like the pics Malgorzata. I'm much better today. No pain, back to normal just have bruises on my arm, hand and leg! Thanks for asking.

A little tough for a beginner hike, but Mike was patient with those who needed more time!

It will be a hard beginner hike. 7 is better then 5. I try to be as accurate as possible.

The last time I went on this the five miles turned into more like seven. What is the "real" :-) distance going to be?

I hiked Norvin Green two weekends ago. It was beautiful. I didn't get to the falls. The trail blazing was inconsistent. Otherwise the trail is in good shape. You might have a few ripe blueberries by the time of your hike.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
