The Mountain Lakes Green Team is sponsoring an information evening Wednesday, March 13th at 6:30 PM in the High School Auditorium. The documentary – Food, Inc. – will be shown and a representative from Food & Water Watch will lead the discussion afterward. The public is welcome at no charge. Find out about our local food sources and sample healthy environmentally friendly foods too.
Filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the veil on our nation's food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that's been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of our government's regulatory agencies, USDA and FDA. Our nation's food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment.
An expert from Food & Water Watch will answer questions after the film. Food & Water Watch is a nonprofit organization that works to ensure the food, water and fish we consume is safe, accessible and sustainably produced.
This is one of a series of free Environmental Film Screenings put on by The Mountain Lakes Green Team. For more information contact Marnie Vyff at[masked] or [masked].
