Montclair Environmental Movie Night: Double Feature

Bring your kids or a friend!
Kilowatt Ours & Unlimited The Montclair Township Environmental Affairs office and Community Green present a double feature of eye opening films about our energy use. As we approach the colder months both movies offer ideas for us to adopt in our homes and communities. For our regular viewers–we have taken care of the library closing time issue. Our first film –
Kilowatt Ours: A Plan to Re-Energize America, the new National edition of the Award winning film is a solutions-oriented exploration of energy issues and opportunities in the United States. The film explores the source of our electricity and the problems caused by energy production including mountain top removal, childhood asthma and global warming. Through film maker Jeff Barry, we will meet individuals, businesses, organizations, and communities who are leading the way, using energy conservation, efficiency and renewable, green power all while saving money and the environment. This often amusing and always inspiring story shows how anyone can easily make a difference!
Unlimited: Renewable Energy in the 21st Century features a group of passionate 6th graders calling for adults to take action and address global warming. In addition, energy experts talk introduce various promising technologies being used right here in New Jersey, such as solar, wind, tidal power, green transportation and food as it pertains to energy consumption.
Unlimited was produced locally and stars our own Gray Russell, Environmental Coordinator Township of Montclair as well as a number of local children. Recently completed, we are happy to premier
Unlimited and invite teachers to consider it for use in the classroom. This is one of a series of Environmental Film Screenings put on by For more information contact Marnie Vyff at[masked] or [masked].

These two films put answers to our global predicament into tangible terms. Simple, inexpensive solutions were presented and even created by children. The discussion after the films was another information filled session with the Producer of Unlimited and representatives from Clean Energy and Chris Daggett's campaign.
