Announcing a new Meetup for Community Green Meetup!Environmental Movie Night ? CrudeThursday, July 15,[masked]:30 PM
Montclair Public Library, 50 South Fullerton , Montclair, NJ 07042
The Montclair Environmental Affairs office and Community Green present another eye-opening environmental movie from their Green Film Series. While the environmental impacts of fossil fuel consumption have been increasingly documented in recent years, and with the tragedy of the Gulf of Mexico oil gusher disaster still front-page news, CRUDE: The Real Price of Oil focuses on the human cost of our addiction to oil, and the difficult task of holding a major corporation accountable for its past deeds.
This cin?ma-v?rit? feature is the epic story of one of the largest and most controversial environmental lawsuits on the planet. The inside story of the infamous ?Amazon Chernobyl? case, taking place in the jungle of Ecuador, Crude is a real-life high stakes legal drama, set against a backdrop of the environmental movement, global politics, celebrity activism, human rights advocacy, the media, multinational corporate power, and rapidly-disappearing indigenous cultures.
Join us for the films and discussion following. This is one of a series of Environmental Film Screenings put on by CommunityGreen.org. For more information contact Marnie Vyff at[masked] or [address removed].
