When: April 15,[masked]:00 PM
Where: Click the link below to find out!
Meetup Description: The Township Environmental Affairs office in conjunction with Community Green is creating a Montclair Green Film Series. Hosted at the Public Library?s Main Branch at 50 So. Fullerton Ave., one film will be shown every month, beginning in April (?Earth Month? in Montclair). Films will cover topics of environmental sustainability. Speakers and experts on the respective topics will be invited to facilitate discussions after the viewings.
The first film, ]?A Sense of Wonder?, will be shown on Wednesday, April 15, at 7:00 PM. It is an adaptation of an inspiring one-woman play about Rachel Carson, the mother of the modern environmental movement. Ms. Carson was a Pulitzer Prize winning author even before the publication of her legendary book ?Silent Spring?, which transformed our understanding of the dangers of pesticides. This is a moving performance of simplicity and power.
Jane Nogaki, Pesticide Program Coordinator with the New Jersey Environmental Federation and an expert on pesticides, will participate.
Admission price is discretionary, with a suggested contribution for this first showing of $3 - $5 to recoup the cost of the screening rights, but payment is not mandatory.
