Free Event and Potluck: Award-Winning Author and Animal Sanctuary Owner, Jenny Brown, is coming to Monmouth!
This event will begin promptly at 1:00 pm. Please make note of Daylight Savings Time.
Jenny Brown is the Co-Founder and Director of the Woodstock Farm Sanctuary and award-winning author of The Lucky Ones.
Brown will be speaking about the animal sanctuary where she rehabilitates animals that have been abused, neglected and abandoned. She will also talk about the gruesome treatment of animals in modern animal agriculture as well as the hazards it poses to human health and the environment. Additionally, she will discuss her award-winning novel The Lucky Ones which recounts her journey of becoming an animal rights activist and starting up her own sanctuary.
The event will be hosted by The Monmouth Area Vegetarian Society (MAVS), brought to the community by Monmouth University's Center for Human and Community Wellness. Find us on Facebook.
What to Bring to the Optional Vegan Potluck: Please bring a completely vegan dish to contribute to the vegan potluck if you would like to participate in that (optional, but fun and delicious). You will also need to bring serving utensils, an index card/paper listing all your ingredients. Some people bring their own plates, silverware, and cups from home, which helps us to save resources.
The event is free and parking is free.
