SUNDAY Eve at The Clairidge: "The Hunt"

MY FLICK PICK is: "The Hunt"

WHY?: Receieved a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. And it's time we all saw a movie. Would have tried for 4:50 but too tight on time.

SYNOPSIS: Rotten Tomato says ...

Mads Mikkelsen (NBC's Hannibal, A ROYAL AFFAIR, CASINO ROYALE) won the Best Actor Award at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival for his penetrating portrayal of Lucas, a former school teacher who has been forced to start over having overcome a tough divorce and the loss of his job. Just as things are starting to go his way, his life is shattered when an untruthful remark throws his small community into a collective state of hysteria. As the lie spreads, Lucas is forced to fight a lonely fight for his life and dignity. (c) Magnolia

Film Description.

RATE THE MEETUP: Don't forget to rate the meetup after you attend it! Please check all five stars if you enjoyed yourself since it will help us to attract sponsors - so please be generous in spirit. And remember, you are rating the EVENT - NOT rate the MOVIE. You can have a great time with us and still not love the flick!

While it's great if we can hook up in the lobby beforehand - what matters most is hooking up in the lobby AFTER the film. Just look for me or a small group of people and say "Hi", don't be shy. Let me know you showed up - I LOVE to meet everyone in person!

The whole point is to TALK about the film, right??? So, depending upon the size of the group, we usually pick a nearby restaurant or cafe and tromp on over there en masse. We really do have some great film conversations and get to explore the film even further than we normally would.

Hope to see you then!!

No problems Eve. The weather was bad and I'm glad you you didn't come if you are sensitive to animal cruelty. If any of the members are sensitive to certain issues, then it behooves them to read any alerts from other members or film websites. No need to be offended. Personally I go because of directors, some actors and good reviews, and then go in blind. Sometimes it's a mistake. LOL.

Bruce I do apologize, and certainly intended to be there...the rain stopped me and the comment from one of the members I accidentally emailed a question about the film/price etc..I will come around the next time and do apologize for any trouble.

Stephanie and Eve. Did you come because I waited in the lobby and saw no one who was looking for a post film discussion. And Susan is right it is not a movie for those that are upset about animals killed on screen. My friend hated that. Otherwise it was a very good film. too bad it was a monsoon and prevented other from making their way to montclair.

Had been planning to go tonight but it is storming badly here and I have a long drive to Montclair so I'll pass but hope you plan another movie soon.

Just an FYI. I saw “The Hunt,” and would not recommend it to people who love animals and don’t want to see them killed, in movies. It is not a spoiler to tell you that the first instance happens near the beginning of the movie when the protagonist kills a deer. I considered walking out (I did not, but wish I did), as once the main character did that I did not give a crap what happened to him.
