The best part of this trip was meeting all the great people. I enjoyed the time with all of you. Thank you again and I look forward to my next trip with you all.

High river from the rains made for a swift and fun paddle. Enjoyed the variety of landscapes from forest to urban, and seeing bridges I regularly cross from a different perspective. Ospreys everywhere!

Things are looking good for Saturday. The river should be running good with all the rain. Just a reminder, the shuttle leaves at 9:30. Please arrive early so the boats can be moved in a timely manner.

I'll know Thursday or Friday if by front-seat buddy is bailing on me. If he does I'll be looking for someone to ride in my front seat. The Mirage drives on this kayak will make this trip much easier; if you don't mind using feet instead of hands. If you're interested - let me know.

if they bail would you prefer to use a tsunami 140?

      May 13, 2014

    • Andy F

oh btw the drives will be useless for first third of trip. bring your plug. shallow sections will rip drive apart

I'm too late for this one but this is a paddle I'd like to do. I only have an 11' sit-on-top. Do you think that extra foot makes a difference in a case like this? Please let me know if you're on the Raritan again.

it actually does due to the number of miles were paddling. 17+ and while its all downstream once you hit open raritan it slows you down considerably. but i do have loaner kayaks on future runs you can use that are 12' and over i did this in a 13'6 sit on and i was slowest one in group

I did this trip this past August with my first/new kayak (Hobie Mirage Oasis). This was my first water trip. The river was beautiful to the extend that I never realized what a treasure it was. I live very close to the Piscataway park where our trip begins.

Yes I did, with my buddy and his son. And once we reached the Raritan River Boat Club we towed his son the rest of the way. Thank god for the Mirage drive on the kayak.
