Count me in with the nay-sayers. If I want to find a headhunter, I'm pretty sure I could; I get about four calls a week. Why would I want them hanging out where I socialize trying to drum up business for themselves?

I think you should make it a stated policy (assuming you want it to be policy :-) that headhunting isn't allowed, period. That doesn't mean they can't show up and socialize but they damn well better be able to give me a cogent opinion on Section 3.3.1.

BTW, having a job fair every so often sounds like a good idea.

I'm in agreement with the folks that don't want to turn the Mobile Meetups into a job fair. If these people want to come and be social, that's great. If someone gets a job out of it, that's good too. However, I don't think it should become a focus for the group.

I attend photography meetups and bicyling meetups and there are no sales people there except maybe those there strictly for the enjoyment of the activity.

I would stay away from any social arena where there are sales persons doing business. I get enough of that in my 9-5 as a web content manager. I would like to attenda "club" with like-minded people and be able to openingly share ideas and comraderie. I tend to feel ill at ease around sales people doing business no matter how likeable. Maybe that's why I stink at marketing my own wares.

Just my $0.02.
