More on Peter: Angel Investor. Founded (and sold) HARO. World Traveller. Ironman Triathlete. Cat father.
Peter Shankman blames ADHD for most of his success. A serial entrepreneur, Peter is best known for founding Help A Reporter Out (HARO), the social media website that redefined how journalism and PR works by connecting millions of sources with hundreds of thousands of journalists around the world each day, for free. HARO was acquired by Vocus in 2010. Peter sits on the advisory board of NASA, is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Dell, and is a successful angel investor with multiple start-up companies in his portfolio. 2011 marked his entry into Hollywood, when he became Executive Producer on Right Next Door, a new film premiering soon. When he's not spending 90% of his time running through airports to catch a connecting flight, Peter is based in Times Square, New York.
He currently lives in New York City with an overweight psychotic cat and a beautiful wife, and in his little spare time, is a sub -4 marathon runner, an Ironman, and B-licensed skydiver. And in classic ADHD fashion, in 2011, a tweet of his was voted one of the top 10 Tweets of the year by ABC News and Twitter.

Awesome! Shankman rocked it. No parachuting in though. That was a little bit of a bummer.

Someone had introduced themselves from WebMD during the 15 sec introductions...from the other side of the room, could not see who it was. If you're reading this, shoot me a message...look forward to connecting with you!

There was a young lady dressed in yellow that introduced herself as a recruiter for developers...I didn't get a chance to connect after the event but would like to ask you a few questions. Please let me know your contact info.

A bit disappointing. While the guest speaker might have been comical, it wasn't informative and somewhat abrasive in the delivery.

Shankman rocked it out. The man should have his own one man show on broadway.

As always, this meeitng was a good use of my time. Good company presentations and a very interesting and insightful presentation by Peter Shankman

As riveting as tech meeting of any kind gets. Aaron and his team run a fast-paced, well-oiled ship and the level of discussion and presentations is ALWAYS superior. I am buoyed each time I attend (3x so far). I highly recommend this group, just do not shout it to everyone (it is tough enough to RSVP).

I love going to the meetup's , it gives me so much energy and people are great.
Big take aways: 1) Be Transparent 2) Brand Your Self 3) Know your Audience (Attention spans is 2.5 sec or 140 chars) 4) Check your Messages

As usual, great meeting Aaron - the set-up is structured to be fun and informative, and well, not so structured. Great energy (And I know energy :) - Peter was tremendous, and a great group of start-ups this time. Would prefer actual dynamite though next time. Thanks!!!

Drive down 5th Street to Sinatra Drive, there's a parking structure under the Babio Center and we're approved to park there until 10pm. This being said, please leave me a space :) See you all in just a bit!

I'm a Stevens student. I registered with the link for students but it doesn't seem to reflect my RSVP on Meetup. Is this ok?
