I have thought about being a writer since I was in 6th grade, but I would write 10 to 50 pages and get bored with my own work. I sent out a children's board book I finished up with the help of my sister last spring. It is time to send it elsewhere.
Henry James, Grace Livingston Hill, Jane Austen, Margaret Wise Brown, John (regular and I, II, and III) and Paul, Treasure Island--so beautifully written, and now Chae Strathie (where Silverstein and Caroll meet).
Board Book Children's Story, Meandering around a collection of stories about Women in Rome that I hope lead to a novel
I'm really enjoying the seriousness of the writers. It is raising my commitment level.
Heh heh! At least you read it first. By the way, it's still posted over here where I'm writing this, in some strange hidden place on the Meetup website.
Re: Last night's conversation, and a nice word.
You were trying to remember what 'nice' used to mean. This morning I was reading Good Omens by Pratchett and Gaiman when I came across this- "Very few people at the age of eight and a half know that 'nice' also means 'scrupulously exact'..."
I wonder if that's it?
