Please keep the family and friends of James Melton, a member of our group, in your thoughts and prayers. He passed away on Nov 3.

James Melton

Nov. 16, 1948-Nov. 3, 2008

Age: 59

Residence: Evans

Tribute: James Melton was born in Newark, N.J., to Leroy and
Rosemary (Carlson) Melton. He grew up in Avenel, N.J., and
moved to Evans in 2003 to be closer to his children and

On July 23, 1971, he married Dona Vaticano in Woodbridge, N.J.

Mr. Melton was a roadside assistant and changed truck tires for
15 years. He then was a pressman in the printing industry. When
he came to Colorado, he attended Aims Community College,
studied psychology and had aspirations of becoming an alcohol
abuse counselor.

Mr. Melton loved to play the guitar and could play anything by
ear. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his cats.
His favorite pastimes included baking peanut butter cookies
with his younger granddaughter and collecting state quarters
with his older granddaughter. An avid conversationalist, he was
always making new friends.

A two-time cancer survivor, Mr. Melton succumbed to liver
failure Monday at the North Colorado Medical Center, Greeley.

Survivors: His mother, Rosemary Melton of Whiting, N.J.; a son,
John Vaticano and wife Margaret Goude of Centennial; a
daughter, Rebeka McClure and husband Chant of Evans; three
brothers, Richard Melton and wife Mary Ann of Iselin, N.J.,
Bruce Melton and wife Linda of Whiting and Peter Melton of
Pottstown, Pa.; two granddaughters, Alexis and Evelyn McClure;
a nephew; two nieces; and his former wife/companion, Dona
Vaticano, Esq., of Evans.

Preceded in death by: His father

Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Allnutt Funeral Service Macy
Chapel, Greeley. Cremation.
