Palm Pre, Mojo, and webOS July Meetup

This location is shown only to members

I am going to tentatively set this meeting for Red Rock coffee shop upstairs pending that they are comfortable with everything. This meetup will have no formal discussion and will most likely follow the "hackfest" format (bring your own pre/laptop/discussion-topic). If the attendance number grows much more beyond 10 I will likely need to reschedule until we can find a place more accommodating. For future reference, if you, or your company, has a place that could host one or more of these meetings please contact me.

Hope to see some of you there and don't forget to bring all your fun and crazy ideas!

Palm should sponsor this developers meetup and give out a free Pre :-) Suddenly you'll see all those iPhone developers drop their Obj-C coding and get onto the bandwagon!

If there are any core hackers out there or someone who has a specific interest in which they would like to give a speech please send me a note and we can work on tailoring the meetup format around this. I am currently trying to gauge the interest and provide the appropriate balance for the right format. The more feedback each of you can provide, the better!

We will not be discussing tethering as we will be taking the same stance as the Pre Dev Wiki folks took: http://predev.wikidot.com/tethering

I have contacted Palm on a couple of occasions and have had no luck in having someone get back to me. If any of you are connected to someone inside Palm perhaps that could get the gears moving a little quicker I would appreciate it. I am not sure whether my inability to contact someone stems from trying to come in the front door or because Palm will only have limited details about the SDK until end of summer (http://pdnblog.palm.com/2009/06/an-update-on-the-early-ac...).

A good first meeting! I am looking forward to the next meeting. It was a pleasure meeting people so enthusiastic about the Pre and are so involved with them.
