Ruby Web Apps with Sinatra

Sinatra is a great way to write highly-configurable web applications. We're going to discuss a bit about what Sinatra is and how it works. Then we'll work together to build a small Sinatra application. Please go to for information and to get it running on your machine before the meeting. You can also check out http://sinatra-book.g... for the free Sinatra book. This should be a good intro to building web applications with Ruby even if you have no experience.

It was great to be able to build an application with Sinatra and deploy on Engine Yard. Building things by hand really gives an appreciation for what something like Rails does.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again tomorrow. We're going to try to get right into things so make sure to get Sinatra installed on your machine. If you need help, don't sweat it.
