Discussion in Lakeview of play by T.S. Eliot, "MURDER IN THE CATHEDRAL"

  • Join us Tuesday, August 6 at 7pm at Chateau Cafe' in Westend/Lakeview for a discussion of "MURDER IN THE CATHEDRAL", a play (drama in verses) by T.S. Eliot, 1935. Eliot went on to win the 1948 Nobel Prize in Literature.

Used copies on amazon.com for a penny before shipping. Available in local libraries and bookstores. 88 pages.

SYNOPSIS: Centered around the age-old story of how Thomas Beckett, the Archbishop of Canterbury, was murdered by knights for defying King Henry II's authority, the play explores a variety of themes: church vs. state, the quest for power, the pursuit of pleasure, the heroism or vanity of martyrs, and the search for life's meaning in the face of death and the "void"."

Intriguing. Prose that flowed with strong feelings. Somewhat archaic vocabulary; however, the gist came through.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
