Tell us a bit about your interests in reading. Be specific.

I like to read poetry and short stories, and contemporary fiction. I've been in a dry spell lately. The last book I read and loved was Cutting for Stone. I also read books on Buddhist thought, and the Sunday New York Times.

What are preferred locations and days for you?

Evenings or weekends are my available times. I moved to New Orleans a month ago, so haven't established routines that limit my time. I am staying in Uptown, but am learning to get around other neighborhoods as well.

Are you strictly interested in discussing novels? What about short stories, poetry, plays, childrens lit.,etc?

I would be interested in discussing a broad range of writing. Even short works of non-fiction would be fine.

When managing your Profile, please be mindful that [1] a recognizable photo of you helps & [2] someone else in the group may share the same first name & [3] nickname/handle though clever and cute, are a distraction and a burden on others. All fair?

Yes. But when you say a recognizable photo helps, I'm not sure what you mean.

I recently moved to New Orleans from Minnesota. I've taught high school English in alternative schools, but now work at Tulane. I have three daughters and a collie. I have a variety of interests that include reading and writing.
