Clay from the group just sent me this message, and for those who are interested in drumming on Mardi Gras day in a parade, this is your chance.  I might be there for the practice on the 19th:

Hey Ty,

Hope your Carnival season is going well. I’m having a group come over to my house today and next Sunday to practice for Mardi Gras Day. Everyone welcome. Shane is our leader. He knows samba and other brazilian music as well as other rhythms. We are going to march in the St. Anne parade on Mardi Gras Day. There are other activities past the morning. We will enjoy a great afternoon on Elysian Fields that includes food and drink. That part costs $10 per person, but everything is provided. It’s not required to go to the after party but it will be a wonderful place to rest and rejuvenate before going back out and enjoying the evening. Anyway, if you want to send a note out to the group or you would like to come and join us please do so. Let me know if you have any questions as well. Clay Thomas Drumming Group Details: Practice dates: 2/12 and 2/19 Practice time: 3pm Location: 2426 Bradish Place (between Tulane/Gravier and S. Tonti/S Rocheblave) near Tulane and Broad.
