Science cafés are live events that involve a face-to-face conversation with a scientist about current science topics or simply an informal discussion among folks with an interest in pursuing science literacy. A Science Cafe' is open to everyone, and take place in casual settings such as libraries, coffeehouses, private homes. Reading of books, magazines, articles partaining to the sciences is encouraged. A science cafe' is certainly not limited to the natural sciences. All forms of scholarship are welcome -- including philosophy or science or religious studies.
There are dozens of active science cafe's throughout North America. Find out more about this model and about existing groups at sciencecafes.org .
