Table Read w/Actors (Please read carefully before signing up)

READ CAREFULLY

Scripts: 4 - This meet up is going to be 4 hours and 30 mins long-- Do not enter your script if you can not stay the entire time. Only sign up if you can show up, and stay-- no shows will not be okay, so if you can't make it-- cancel in advance. You must also be on time to hear other scripts-- it's only fair.

Critics/Readers: Unlimited - It would be nice if you can come and stay the entire time, but there's more flexibility here. Those who invest their time to help others will be rewarded by having priority during the next table reads.

Scripts:

If you have a script that you'd like to have read, RSVP with the name of your screenplay, and the length of the first act, and answer the other questions prompted by the RSVP. We are only reading the first act. We can only read 4 scripts. The first 4 to RSVP with the title and the length of their script will have their scripts read. If you do not follow directions, I'll have to move on to the next person.Only answer the questions about your script if you're submitting it to be read-- this will help me avoid confusion. We will have actors, I'm not sure how many yet-- but we'll most likely be pulling from the attendees as well.

The first act can't be longer than 35 pgs. If the submissions are mostly long first acts, I might have to pick another script with a shorter first act so that we can fit all the scripts in one session.

Participants:

The table read is open to everyone. Those who come to this meetup to listen, comment and perhaps read will get priority for the next table reads. It's important that we support each other by listening and giving advice.

Location - I'm still looking for a location. Please send me a private email if you can possibly host this. Thanks!

Treats - Since this will be a long meeting, I'll be bringing some treats and snacks--- if you're able to bring something to share as well, that would be nice--- but it is not required.

My second event with the group, and continue to be impressed with the genuine way in which members support each others' work, and their experience and screenwriting/scriptwriting skills.

Hey group, I was printing scripts last night and my printer ran out of ink. I uploaded the script to the files section of this meetup and anyone who wants a copy who belongs to the group can download it. If someone has a working printer and doesn't mind printing a half dozen or so copies, I'd appreciate it ... or just bring a computer with the script on the screen if you wan. The file is ten pages long in PDF format. Thanks!

I downloaded "On Assignment" to my laptop and can read from that if needed.

Mark, Again I was there because of you. I had not previously been involved in a table read with screenwriters. It was enlightening and I am glad I came. Enjoyed meeting everyone. The best to you and the other screenwriters going forward!

Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to show up for the table read. As one of the writers, I felt the session was valuable and it helped me clarify the direction I need to go in this particular work. The actors were amazing. Give yourselves a hand for a job well done, and thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

Never been to Zotz - sounds like a good venue for the table read Astride, with plenty of coffee and tea options!

I have four polished screenplays that I'd be willing to share, and I've done workshops and table reads before. But w/o a location, I don't want to commit only to have to back out. I'm OK to do readings and show my stuff later, if that's the case. But, again, the location is important. If I could host, I would.

I can get anywhere in the city, but not Kenner, etc. That was my worry.

      April 23, 2013

    • Astride

Don't worry then...it'll be at an easy-to-get-to place in the city.
