And now for something completely different... Thank you Alex for this great suggestion! Some people were saying that there are other cool bowling alleys in Manhattan we could check out, but the more I looked into it, the more awesome and unique Brooklyn Bowl seemed to be. This is more than just a bowling alley. It's got Brooklyn style written all over it, with a full performance stage and a high quality restaurant. Plus, it's only one stop out of Manhattan so it's not like a major trek or anything. Let's go on Monday, January 17th to bowl and listen to the 80s tribute band, White Wedding! They seem pretty cool and who doesn't love the 80s? We'll dance as we wait for our turn. Of course, feel free to come for the music and food even if you don't wanna bowl... but if you come just to bowl and wear heavy duty earplugs to ignore the music, you're probably not going to win too many friends... COSTS Entry is Free! Bowling is $40 per lane per hour... so if we do eight people per lane (the max), it's $5 an hour. Shoe rentals are $4 Sock rentals, for all the incredibly disgusting people out there, are $3 Plus your own food and beer... see a menu
HERE The music starts at 8pm but let's get there at.... well... I was going to say earlier, but I'm figuring a lot of you will have trouble getting there any sooner... so I guess let's get there at 8pm so Manhattanites don't have an excuse to miss out. Of course, if you want to get there sooner feel free.
Subway From Manhattan: Take the L Train to Bedford Ave stop. Exit at the rear of the train (coming from Manhattan), walk North on Bedford Ave. Make a left at N. 11th st, walk 2 blocks. Make right on Wythe, Brooklyn Bowl is on the right. Sound good? Let me know if I forgot anything... Check out their website:
