Every Sunday morning at 9:00-10:00am just before the Nondualism Satsang, there is a period of deep relaxation. We alternate from week to week between sohum mantra sushumna kriya, yoga nidra, om mantra sushumna kriya, 30-minute guided meditation, and possibly other practices. Each of these has a unique way of leading you to a state of deep relaxation. We will start the practice punctually at 9:00am so that we are certain to be finished before the 10:00am start of the Nondualism Satsang. You are welcome to come early if you'd like to have some quiet time for visiting with one another.
SECOND SUNDAY of each month is Om Mantra Sushumna Kriya. This recorded practice has 108 slowly repeated Oms. You inhale with Om, and then exhale with Om, lying on your back in the corpse posture (shavasana). With each inhalation you imagine or visualize the energy of consciousness (prana-shakti) moving up the subtle spine (sushumna) to the crown of the head (sahasrara chakra). With each exhalation, you imagine or visualize that same energy moving down to the base of the spine (muladhara chakra) or out beyond the space between the legs to infinity or as far as is comfortable. After the end of the 108 repetitions (54 breaths in about 17 minutes) there is a period of silence where you continue the practice internally, silently, at your own comfortable speed. At the beginning of the practice there is a "gong" sound and at the end (30 minutes total) there is another "gong" sound. This is a deeply relaxing practice that leads to a profound sense of stillness and silence.
