Hello all. I'm a wild eyed individualist of the libertarian variety, a Paulista, a moderately militant atheist, jazzbo and fan of felines.

What made you sign up for the Wilmington Peace Meetup?

I generally oppose an interventionist foreign policy, and that's what we've got. I'll see what I can do.

How do you practice peace in your daily life?

Through the voluntary exchange of goods and services.

What ideas do you have for ending the war in Iraq?

Pushing for Ron Paul, maintaining an organized post-nomination constitutionalist/non-interventionist movement, collaborating with the anti-war left where possible, preaching the good word to those interested.

What risks will you take to promote peace?

Well, I try to avoid arrest nowadays. Perhaps I would consider picketing without filing the paper work.

Hey Caleb, Glad to have you onboard. I am one of the assistant-organizers of the group. We basically got started up to help organize the tea party and since then have had a few meetings where our goals have been to boost membership, share ideas and educate ourselves on the real problems with our government, and develope strategies to improve the situation.

Can me a cynic or just someone who's been alive a bit longer than some, but it's been my experience that the popular (vs. electoral college) vote counts for absolutely nothing in national elections. Outraged calls for election reform invariably follow, but the system persists. Still, it's heartening that there indeed are voters who actually take time to learn about the candidates and to make informed choices. Oh well.

Very nice meeting you tonight...although I must say, we have to work on your positive thinking skills. Have you seen the support Ron Paul has on the internet? Unfathomable! Yet, its there, thriving! Mainstream media just won't cover him because he's a threat, but yet people are STILL finding out about this great statesman. Come to a few meetings (we won't bite!) and we'll bring hope back to the American table for ya! :) Best wishes, and welcome!

Ron Paul does have a chance, don't listen to the main stream media! It is through the grassroots movements like ours that this statesman will get the attention he deserves. You are very correct though, as far as what he has brought to the table, he has already won. The issues he brings to the election are up front and on people's minds now, and even other candidates are mimicking his policies. Regardless of the outcome of the election, we are forever changed for the better by this great man!
