Regular touring social

This is the standard social event - this time hosted at Oliva Smartt's place in Oakland. Anyone is welcome - bring food, drinks and happy faces!

Olivia's cell: (510)[masked]

Transportation: Closest BART train is 19th street station (walkable), or Lake Merritt station if you fancy the scenic route. The lake can be really beautiful at sunset!

Car Parking: Sometimes challenging in the Adam's Point neighborhood, but potential options include conveniently picking up a six pack and snacks nearby at Whole Food's (corner of Harrison and 27th/Bay Place) and leaving your car there for a spell. Or you might snag a spot down Grand Avenue, and there might be spots near the park entrance to Fairy Land
(Grand Ave & Bellevue/Parkview Terrace) around Lake Merritt.

Getting in without a bike: Walk up on up to the second floor, which is the one above the main entrance. (If you are standing on the door mat that says "180 Georgian," go up one more floor.) I'll leave the door cracked open. See non-descript blue door, yourself in, take a right then a left. Olivia is in #202.

Getting in and parking your bike: Hang out in front of the parking garage gate near the spindly palm tree. Call or text Olivia at (510)[masked] and I'll automatically open the garage gate. Ride to the end/left of the garage, and lock your bike to the eye bolts in the wall, or to your [new] friends' bike in the pile-up. My spot is the one with the multiple bikes and piles of garden mulch in the corner. I suggest locking up your bike in the garage. After locking up, walk to the stairway at the other end of the garage, go up two flights, walk into the hallway, and Olivia's is the first unit on your right: #202.

Last little note: Cell phone coverage is *not* awesome in this neighborhood, so texting might work better than calling. If neither are working well and you want to park your bike in my garage, bring your bike up to my place and follow the above directions for "Getting in without a bike," then once you're in the building, walk down the stairs at the end of the hallway, to the other end of the garage, lock your bike in the corner with the other bikes and gardeing supplies, then come back up to #202 and join the fun!

Hey All, it was so great to meet so many if you. Thanks so much for coming over, and for the great snacks and beer, and everyone's help cleaning up, too. Bike tourists are some of my favorite folks! And did anyone leave their black backpack? It was hanging in my pantry door. :) Olivia
