Same six writers meet bi-weekly.

I’d like to meet with the same five writers every week or every other week to workshop our completed feature screenplays. The reading will happen offsite, and each reader will arrive at the meeting with others’ marked-up pages and notes for the other writers. This way, the workshop can be in-depth and discussion can begin immediately. Scripts in this group will be complete, mostly proofed, properly formatted, and ready for rewrite. The critique and discussion will focus on character, language, dialogue, structure, pacing, theme, symbol, voice, plot, approach and creative process. Members should come with clear expectations regarding what they want from the group. Each writer'll prepare a list of questions for the readers to answer, and be ready to receive in-depth, well-considered feedback. The screenplays in this group’ll be drama, romantic drama, romantic comedy, comedy, suspense, or thriller. Writers can email pages to each member of the group in advance of the meetup, or bring pages for future consideration for everyone. If this sounds like the kind of workshop you need and that might even bring you some joy, I’d like to hear from you. I need a group, and I’m clear about what kind. It might be hard to find the right mix of six or so personalities, availabilities, and interests. But, I want to try. I want to work with a small group of writers who are ready commit to regular participation and in-depth dialogue about our work, over time. Anybody?

Sorry, something has come up and I have to cancel. I'll return your script, with notes, next Monday

We did this with someone last week and I think it went really well. I'm all for it, and I can host at my place.

However if held during the week in the evening, I would prefer the Garland/Richardson area..

I think the ball's in the court of who ever first posted this suggestion. Pick and date and place. We'll come if we can. I'm looking forward to it already!

Hi, guys. Do you have a meeting place and time yet?

I'm interested too! Mondays are not ideal for me unless it doesn't land on the 2nd Monday of the month. No Thursdays either. Tuesday or Wednesday are great!

I'm so glad to find this posting here! I noticed it at DSA's meetup group. My preference is to schedule it on a Monday in one of the weeks when our regular group isn't meeting, but I'm mostly flexible. (No Thursdays for me).

This sounds like what I'm looking for as well. Because I can't meet on Monday nights, I've started a group on every other Tuesday night that meets closer to Downtown (Turtle Creek Screenwriters here on Meetup). If that's a good night for you, I'd invite you there. I'm free to meet wherever on the alternate Tuesday.
