Have you ever written a script before? If so, for what medium?

Short films in Final Draft.

Have you ever sold or self-produced a script? Have you ever had one of your scripts produced by someone else?

No. No; however, my script was one of three finalists nominated last semester.

Why do you write? For personal pleasure/satifaction? To sell? To self-produce?

I have an unbelievable imagination. I wish you could read this script I wrote for my class. I know it needs work, but I got compliments on just how huge I went with the setting, characters, and etc. I enjoy putting something together out of nothing, but I've learned that believing in your script and being willing to put the energy to pick it up off the ground, is just as important. Even filmmakers are salesman...or so they tell me. So, to answer all the questions I circle option, "D", for "All of the Above".

Do you have a problem giving or receiving honest, constructive criticism?

No, I don't. I understand the value of helping someone with their work, and also the respect I need to pay someone else for their opinion.

What do you hope to get out of joining a local writer's group?

I want to meet real professional screenwriters. I think it would be great to meet people with tenacity and fire in their veins for writing screenplays, just like me.

Young screenwriter. Film Grad. I too suffer from "soul crushing inadequacy."
