Book of the Month/Easy Hike - Washington Arboretum - "A Story Like The Wind"

Who likes to read and then discuss the book? You do not have to read the book in order to attend the hike (but it gives us something to talk about). Bring along some food and beverage to snack on during the discussion portion.  If the weather is good we can find a picnic table near the parking area.

This Month's Selection:

"A Story Like The Wind" by Laurens Van Der Post -

A Story Like the Wind is an amazing snapshot of africa told through the eyes of francois, a young boy whose world revolves around his dog and the bush.

Easy Hike - Washington Park Arboretum

Let's walk the trails of the Washington Arboretum before discussing this book.  Park in the parking lot for the Japanese Gardens and there are picnic tables near by for the discussion after the walk.

The Washington Park Arboretum is a 200-acre park on the shore of Lake Washington, in the Madison Park neighborhood of Seattle, with over 40,000 trees

It was lovely walking through the arboretum on a fine Saturday morning, and equally nice chatting and snacking afterwards. For those unable to attend today but still want to discuss the book, neither Vanessa or I had quite finished the book but were enjoying it immensely and may discuss the finish next month. Tune in to see when and where our next book club walk will be.

Hi - Unfortunately I'm not going to make it as I had planned. Looking forward to next time though. Enjoy - it sounds like a lovely walk.

Plan on about an hour to an hour and a half walk around the arboretum. Bring some water for yourself and your dogs. If you are staying for the book discussion afterwards you might want to bring a snack or lunch along as well.

I don't have all the recommended hiking stuff yet (water and poop bags are all I have so far). I would still like to attend my first meeting Saturday. Will that work?

Look forward to seeing you tomorrow, Karen. This is an easy, urban hike so water, leash and poop bags and appropriate footwear is all you need.

I can't make tomorrow as I have a previous commitment but would love to join you next weekend. I will pick up the book and start reading

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
