Wednesday Evening Walk - Legion Park to Grand Ave Park - Everett

Ah, spring is in the air. Can you feel it?

I found a beautiful garden walk in Everett we can do even if it gets dark before we finish.

We can start by Legion Park in Everett, walk through the small arboretum (dogs are allowed, just stay on the trail) and then walk along the street to Grand Avenue Park.  There are some beautiful homes along here, with waterviews along the way, and the gardens are starting to come alive.

This will be a 3.5 - 4 mile RT walk.  It may start to get dark before we finish and, although there are street lights, come prepared with a flashlight and lights for your dogs so they can be seen.

Legion Park - Evergreen Arboretum

Referred to as Snohomish County's 'treasure', the Evergreen Arboretum & Gardens is both a place of beauty and education and is free to the public. Located on 3 ½ acres in Everett Washington, its ten themed gardens include the Urban Tree Walk, Entrance Garden, Rock Garden, Northwest Native Plant Trail, Rain Garden, Japanese Maple Grove, Northwest Demonstration Garden, Viewing Mound, Woodland and Conifer Gardens as well as the 200' Snohomish County Master Gardener's Demonstration Border and sculptures throughout. Weaving through these gardens are ADA approved pervious pathways in most areas. There are countless ways to experience and enjoy all that the Evergreen Arboretum has to offer; docent-led tours, free educational classes, the annual plant sale and volunteerism. Come witness the beauty that every season holds. The Arboretum is open from dawn until dusk.

I thought we might end up getting wet last night, but not so. Turned out to be a lovely, if a little bit breezy, evening for a walk. Where else can you watch whales as the sun sets? This is definitely a walk I will keep in mind for the future. I enjoyed walking with all of you wonderful people and pups. Thanks for coming and see you again soon.

Darn it, can't make it, will have to work late this evening; sometimes the software business is maddeningly unpredictable and melodramatic.

See you all later. In case of heavy rain, I may cancel, normal rain I may not. I will make that decision about 5:30 so check back later.
Otherwise, I drive a blue hyundai tucson, look for that in the parking lot. I like to leave right on time so we can be done by 8:30. If you are running late you may want to drive down to the Grand Park area and park and walk back with us.
This is a big group so please be respectful of property owners gardens and keep your dogs out of them. At both end there are grassy park areas your dogs can sniff around in. Thanks.

Will this walk be stroller friendly? I'd like to bring my daughter along as well.

Strollers should be fine. It is paved and a sidewalk for most of the way. She must stay in the stroller though.

I don't have anything to keep Samson "visible" what recommendations do you all have that I can use or buy?

I use nite ize by spot lit. They are little lights that can be clipped onto the collars or your zipper pull. I have purchased them from pet stores and bartells.
